Gillette Razor Promotion

I worked on the Gillette Razor campaign website with a local agency that hired me to work on a few different phases for the Try Gillette microsite. The website was designed in-house by the partner agency with which we were involved at the discovery stage of the project. The website then went into a phase one build.

The Try Gillette website was there to promote their new razor and handle which could be purchased at the massive rate of £1.99 so that people could try the new product. Try Gillette was a focused campaign for those based in a selection of major cities in the UK, adverts were used to target these cities to allow consumers to make their purchases.

Some of the challenges we came up against were exciting, but at the same time frustrating. These are often the best projects to have as problem-solving is always something I love and so with this project, they certainly pushed the boundaries of technologies and tools we have available on the modern web. Because this was a very focused campaign we had a lot of people coming to the website from Deal Hunter sites such as HotUK Deals. We also had a mass amount of people sharing it between friends outside of the focused campaign boundaries and so we had to start and set limitations such as accurate IP Ring Fencing, only a specific amount of orders per email address and Postcode and complete redirects if the traffic came from a specific source such as HotUK Deals.

Unfortunately the Try Gillette Campaign has finished and is now offline, however from above you can hopefully get a gist of what the project was like and how it operated from a design and build perspective. Thanks to everyone involved in the project.
